スカイパークあざみ台
スカイパークあざみ台からは、阿蘇くじゅう国立公園の360度のパノラマを一望できます。標高1,000メートルの展望台の高みから、北に久住連山、南東に阿蘇のカルデラと阿蘇五岳、そして南西に祖母山を眺めることができます。これらの景色はすべて、1964年に出版された名高い山々についての本「日本百名山」の中で叙述されています。スカイパークあざみ台では、日本で最も有名な山のうちの三つを一度に見ることができます。ノーベル賞を受賞した作家、川端康成（1899-1972）をはじめとする人々がこの眺めを高く評価しています。
Azamidai Skypark
Azamidai Skypark offers 360-degree views of Aso-Kuju National Park. From the observatory’s lofty height of 1,000 meters, visitors will be able to gaze at the Kuju Mountains to the north, Aso’s caldera and five peaks to the southeast, and Mt. Sobo to the southwest. All of these sights are included in 100 Famous Japanese Mountains, a book of celebrated peaks published in 1964. At Azamidai Skypark, visitors can see three of Japan’s most celebrated mountains in one place, and the view has been admired by visitors such as Nobel Prize-winning author Yasunari Kawabata (1899–1972).
