湯ノ湖
湯ノ湖は、日光地方のほとんどの湖と同様に、火山活動の産物である。三岳の溶岩などの破片が一部を堰き止めてできたのが湯川である。"湯ノ湖 "とは、湖の周辺にある温泉に由来する "湯の湖 "という意味である。フライフィッシングの人気スポットだが、1800年代後に湖に魚の子孫が持ち込まれるまで魚はいなかった。
湖とその周辺は、ラムサール条約に登録されている奥日光の湿地帯の一部である。湖の外周には約3キロのハイキングコースがある。
金精峠
近世峠は、群馬県と栃木県の県境にまたがる。この日光地方の山間を抜ける峠は、勝道上人（735～817）によって創られた修験道の主要な周回路の一つである。
標高2,000mを超えるこの峠は、奥日光全体を見渡すことができる最高の場所の一つである。駐車場からは金精神社への登山道が整備されている。冬季は通行止めになる。
Lake Yunoko
Lake Yunoko, like most of the lakes in the Nikkō area, is a product of volcanic activity. It was formed when lava and other debris from Mt. Mitsudake partially blocked the Yugawa River. “Yunoko” means “warm water lake” and refers to the hot springs around the lake. Although it is a popular spot for fly fishing today, there were no fish there until the late 1800s, when the lake was stocked with trout.
The lake and its surrounding area are part of the Oku-Nikkō Wetlands, a registered site of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance. A 3-kilometer hiking trail circles the perimeter of the lake.
Konsei Pass
The Konsei Pass straddles the border between Gunma and Tochigi Prefectures. The pass lies on one of the main Shugendō circuits established by Shōdō Shōnin (735–817), which runs through the mountains of the greater Nikkō area.
The pass is over 2,000 meters high and one of the best places to look out over much of Oku-Nikkō. A trail to Konsei Jinja Shrine is accessible from the parking area. The road is closed in winter.
