Landscapes Formed by the Seasonal Winds

Due to the islands’ location, the Keramas are greatly influenced by the seasonal winds that blow from the northwest in winter. In places where the winds are especially strong—along the shore, on promontories and mountain ridges—the growth of short, ground-hugging plants creates an unusual landscape.
