How do I apply for UAS certification ?
Please apply MLIT for UAS certification through DIPS2.0.
Can I request MLIT or Registered Unmanned Aircraft Inspection Organizations to inspect my unmanned aircraft ?
You can do either. However, we recommend you to request MLIT for your Class 1 UAS type certification and Registered Unmanned Aircraft Inspection Organizations for your Class 2 UAS type certification.
What do you inspect on my unmanned aircraft ?
We inspect both design and production on the type of your unmanned aircraft through documents and on-site in compliance with safety and conformity standards. Please check this website to see circulars and guidelines in detail.
How much are inspection fees ?
Please check inspection fees and payment method on MLIT/Registered Unmanned Aircraft Inspection Organizations in advance. You can see inspection fees of MLIT from here and pay by using your credit card or “Pay-easy” (ATM/Online Banking). Do I need to have UAS certification whenever I fly my unmanned aircraft in Japan ?
You need to have UAS certification only when you fly your unmanned aircraft in the specific conditions, such as airspace and ways to fly. Please check this chart to see if you need UAS certification for your unmanned aircraft flight.
How can I apply for UAS certification ?
