1.Water flows into a depression in the ground; in time, aquatic plants begin to grow.
2. Dead bog moss and aquatic plants accumulate on the bottom.
3. Partially decayed vegetation is compacted into peat. Over time, the accumulation of peat makes the pond smaller.
