Fujisato Ski Slope
The Fujisato Ski Slope is a relaxing spot for winter visitors to pass part of a day without leaving town. This 6.5-hectare public facility has a run approximately 400-meters long and a two-person chair lift. The slope is a relatively gentle beginner-level course until the final section, where it becomes a steeper, intermediate-level run. The slopes are seldom crowded, and there are rarely lines for the lift.
The ski area is open every day from December 25 to the last day of February, though this is subject to change depending on snow conditions. The lift operates from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in December and January. In February it runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
A day pass is ¥2,000 for adults, ¥1,000 for children up to age 15, and ¥1,500 for those over 60. Three-hour passes cost ¥1,200 for adults, ¥600 for children, and ¥1,000 for seniors. Single-ride lift tickets are ¥200 for all ages.
A limited number of skis and snowboards are available. The equipment is a little old and the quality variable, but rentals are free.
There is a vending machine with beverages, and instant noodles are on sale in the ski hut. More substantial meals are offered at the Shirakami Sanchi Mori no Eki restaurant, a 5-minute drive from the ski slope.
