Kamiyu Onsen
(看板)
Welcome to the outdoor bathing facility of Kamiyu Onsen, privately maintained in this riverside location. The hot spring here is believed to have been discovered by a villager in the early eighteenth century. This public bath promises a rare and relaxing bathing experience. We are committed to using only free-flowing hot spring waters, something unheard of at most hot spring baths in Japan. We refrain from processes such as circulation, reuse, reheating, chlorination, or dilution, so that bathers can soak in water that is 100 percent natural, straight from the hot spring source. The baths here are prized for their sodium bicarbonate-rich waters and for offering relaxation in a secluded valley setting.
