個体数の増加と環境問題
鹿による食害
鹿の頭数が増えすぎたことによって問題が発生しています。
(奥日光に)生息するたくさんの鹿が植物や木の樹皮を食べ傷つけています。その結果、奥日光の景色が変化しているのです。国立公園では対策として、鹿を防ぐための防止柵などを設置し、環境保全に努めています。

人間たちが奥日光に外来種を持ち込んだことで、それらの種が繁栄、在来植物に被害を与えています。(現在、)ボランティアの方々が、本来の自然環境を取り戻すため、外来植物を取り除く活動をしています。

Problems Caused by Overpopulation of Deer
The large resident deer population damages plants and tree bark. This, in turn, is altering the natural landscape of Oku-Nikko. The park is implementing countermeasures to conserve the environment, including fences to keep out the deer.
Problems with Invasive Species
Invasion of Non-native Plant Species
Humans have introduced non-native plants to Oku-Nikko, which have thrived, damaging native plant species. Volunteers remove these alien species in order to help restore the natural environment.
