Overview

Mihonoseki is a scenic port town located on the eastern end of the Shimane Peninsula. This town is home to a beautiful bay with deeply indented coastlines, historic streets lined with nineteenth-century buildings, a lighthouse offering magnificent views of Mt. Daisen and the sea, and Miho Shrine, which enshrines the god of fishermen and prosperity. Mihonoseki is a great spot to take a short stroll through the San’in Region’s fascinating history and spiritual culture.
