Early Fall Flowers

Fall begins early in Hachimantai due to the high elevation, with the first signs of the changing season starting in August. Plantain lilies, purple ezo-oyamarindo gentian, white-flowered burnet, mizugiku aster, lobelia, goldenrod, purple okutorikabuto monkshood and other flowers burst into bloom one after another, followed by the wetland grasses changing colors. The fall colors are at their peak in October.
