みちのく潮風トレイル
みちのく潮風トレイルは、北は青森県から南は福島県まで太平洋沿岸を通る1,000キロメートルのトレッキングルートです。広範囲にわたって深い凹凸が続く海岸線の素晴らしい景色だけでもトレイルを歩く理由としては充分ですが、本当の楽しみは各地域の地元の文化を知り、そこに住む人々がどのように自然の恵みと調和しながら暮らしているかを体験することです。
見どころには、北日本最大の河川である北上川、なだらかな丘陵、静かな森、そして快活な海辺の北上・河北・雄勝地区が含まれます。
トレイルの石巻市ルートは、2011年に起こった地震と津波の悲惨な被害を乗り越え、地域の絆を深めつつ明るい未来に向かって進む宮城県の一地域を通っています。
The Michinoku Coastal Trail
The Michinoku Coastal Trail is a 1,000-kilometer hiking route along the Pacific Ocean coast between Aomori Prefecture in the north and Fukushima Prefecture further south. The scenic views along the extensive and heavily indented coastline are reason enough to explore the trail, but the real treat is getting to know each area’s local culture and experiencing how people live in harmony with the blessings of nature around them.
Attractions include the Kitakami River—the largest river in northern Japan—rolling hills, tranquil forests, and the delightful seaside districts of Kitakami, Kahoku, and Ogatsu.
The Ishinomaki section of the trail takes travelers through a region of Miyagi Prefecture that has come through the tragic earthquake and tsunami disaster of 2011 with an even stronger sense of community and progress toward a brighter future.
