鵜戸神宮：鵜戸山八丁坂
鵜戸山八丁坂（「鵜戸神宮へつながる八丁の坂」、丁は日本の古い長さの単位で109メートルに相当）は、鵜戸神宮への最も古い参道です。815段の石段は鵜戸港から伸び、少なくとも江戸時代（1603～1867年）から使われてきました。石段の中央部は、何世紀にもわたって踏み続けてきた無数の足によってすり減り、明らかに周囲よりも低くなっています。地元の言い伝えによると、この石段は頭の上でバランスを取りながら海岸から石を運び上げた尼僧によって作られました。

所謂「鵜戶山八丁坂」，就是「通往鵜戶神宮的8丁長的山坡」，「丁」是日本古代長度單位，約合109公尺。它是鵜戶神宮前最古老的參道，815級石階一直通到吹毛井港口，最遲在江戶時代（1603-1867）便已開始使用。若干個世紀以來，無數人走過這段台階，它的中央部分被磨得明顯凹陷了下去。當地流傳的說法是，佛教比丘尼們從海岸採石，然後將石頭穩穩地頂在頭上，一塊塊搬上山來，建起了這些石階。

Udo Shrine: Udosan Hatchozaka
The Udosan Hatchozaka (“eight-cho slope to Udo Shrine”; cho is an old Japanese unit of length equivalent to 109 meters) is the oldest approach to Udo Shrine. The 815-step stone staircase leads to and from the port of Fukei and has been used at least since the Edo period (1603–1867). The stones in the middle of the steps are visibly lower than those around them, worn down by the countless feet that have trodden them over the centuries. According to local lore, the staircase was built by Buddhist nuns who carried the stones up from the shore by balancing them on their heads.
