If you are interested in enjoying sunsets, head to the westernmost point of whichever island you are on to face the setting sun. If your interest is contemplating the night sky, its best to be well away from any light leakage from the main island of Okinawa.

Aka Island: Recommended Sunset and Stargazing Spots
Amagusuku Viewpoint
The best place for enjoying the sunset and the stars on Aka Island is the Amagusuku Viewpoint, from where you can watch the sun sinking below the horizon. It is within 15 or so minutes’ walk of Aka Harbor on the south side of the island.
