弥陀洞
弥陀洞は、山寺の上層部へと続く道沿いにある、風化した巨大な岩面です。何世紀もかけて風雪に削られ風化した岩の表面が、高さ4.8メートルの阿弥陀如来の姿を思わせます。阿弥陀如来の姿に見える人には、ご利益があると言われています。
阿弥陀如来の姿の岩肌にはいくつもの位牌が刻まれており、後生車と呼ばれる木製の位牌が岩肌の下に立てかけられています。後生車には、亡くなった人の戒名が刻まれており、回転する祈りのための車が付いています。車には経が書かれており、これを回すと経をあげることに相当するとされています。
彌陀洞
彌陀洞坐落於通往山寺頂端的路上，是一座久經風化的巨大岩壁。數百年間在大自然雕刻下，歷經風雪侵蝕的岩壁讓人聯想到高4.8公尺的阿彌陀佛如來像。據說若能看出兩者的相似性，就會得到阿彌陀佛如來的加持。
彷彿阿彌陀佛如來的岩壁表面刻有諸多牌位，名為「後生車」的木製冥器則倚在底部。後生車刻有死者的法號，上端有一處可旋轉並寫有佛經的祈禱輪，轉動輪子便象徵著為死者誦經。

在通往山寺上端的途中，有一块饱经风霜的巨大岩壁，名为弥陀洞。数百年间，风雨使岩壁的形态不断改变，形成的样貌仿佛一尊高4.8米的天佛阿弥陀佛像。据说能看出这种关联的游客会得到阿弥陀佛的庇护。
阿弥陀佛像下方的岩壁上刻有诸多牌位，一些名为“后生车”的木制冥器倚靠在岩壁底部。后生车上刻有死者的法名，并有一个可旋转的祈祷轮。轮上书写着佛经，滚动祈祷轮便象征着诵经。
Midahora
The Midahora is a large, weathered rock face along the path to Yamadera’s upper reaches. Over the centuries the elements have carved the rock into something evoking a 4.8-meter-tall image of the Celestial Buddha, Amida Nyorai. Visitors who can make out the likeness are thought to receive Amida’s blessing.
Mortuary tablets are carved into the rock beneath the image, and wooden funerary objects called gosho-guruma lean against the base of the rock face. The gosho-guruma are inscribed with the posthumous Buddhist names of the deceased and have a spinnable prayer wheel. Sutras are written on the wheel, and rotating them is symbolic of reciting the sutra.
