Chapter 6 :
Basic Matters Relating to Providing of the Facilities for Exchange of Culture, Scientific Studies and Research

1. Objective of Construction and Enhancement of the Facilities for Exchange of Culture, Scientific Studies and Research

Together with promoting the development of culture, advancement of learning along with exchange and joint research involving research and development, the Facilities for Exchange of Culture, Scientific Studies and Research will be constructed and enhanced for the purpose of planning and supporting international, interdisciplinary and interindustrial joint research.
2. The Culture and Scientific Research District for the Construction of the Facilities for Exchange of Culture, Scientific Studies and Research

The Facilities for Exchange of Culture, Scientific Studies and Research will be constructed in Seika-Nishi Kizu district as much as possible.
3. The Private Company for the Purpose of Construction and Administration of the Facilities for Exchange of Culture, Scientific Studies and Research

(1) The prime minister will designate whenever possible a private company recognized to have sufficient managerial foundation and ability for effectively implementing the enterprises listed in (2) below for the purpose of 3. The Private Company for the Purpose of construction and administration of the Facilities for Exchange of Culture, Scientific Studies and Research based on the Kansai Science City Construction Act (to be referred to as "the Designated Company").

(2) The Designated Company are to be engaged in the enterprises listed below.

1) Construction and administration of facilities for promoting exchange and joint research relating to the development of culture, promotion of learning and research and development

2) Enterprises required for promoting exchange relating to the development of culture, promotion of learning and research and development

3) Enterprises required for planning and supporting international, interdisciplinary and interindustrial joint research

4) Enterprises required for proliferation and enlightenment relating to cultural and scientific research

5) Enterprises required for providing information necessary for cultural and scientific research activities

6) Construction and administration of facilities for supporting cultural and scientific research activities

7) Other enterprises required for accomplishing the objectives of the Facilities for Exchange of Culture, Scientific Studies and Research
