Misogi
Misogi is a Shinto purification ritual conducted in the natural and historic setting of Shirayama-Hime Shrine. Visitors are welcome to experience the misogi ceremony.
Immerse yourself in the clear water flowing from sacred Mt. Hakusan and recite a prayer for spiritual and physical purification.

<INTRO>
Experience the misogi purification ceremony, cleansing your mind and body in a pond filled with water that has trickled down through the rock of sacred Mt. Hakusan over centuries. The priests of Shirayama-Hime Shrine will guide you through the ancient words and actions of this Shinto ceremony.
Fees:
Ceremony fee: ¥4,000 per participant
Men: white fundoshi (loincloth): ¥1,500
Women: white kimono: ¥7,000 to purchase, ¥1,000 to rent
Participation:
From 5 to 40 participants
Reservations:
Please reserve one week prior to desired date.
If the group contains the minimum number (two persons, or five in November) and space is available, reservations one day prior to the ceremony are possible.
Meeting point:
In front of the torii gate at the entrance to Shirayama-Hime Shrine, at the Omotesando parking lot.
Schedule
1:00 p.m.: A guide will lead you from the torii gate up the Omotesando path.
1:45 p.m.: Pay respects at the shrine.
2:15 p.m.: Instruction on the misogi ritual
2:45 p.m.: Misogi ceremony, followed by conferral of a certificate of completion
3:45 p.m.: End of experience
